Drumbeg Parish Mission Statement: What are we about?

We seek to be an all-age welcoming faith community committed to:

Teaching the Bible

We believe in faithfully teaching the Bible in our Church services, study groups, Youth and Children’s groups and in our homes; equipping everyone in our care to live out the truth wherever they are. We seek to do this through faithful expository teaching.

Ministering in Prayer

We believe in praying in the Spirit: for one another at Church on Sundays, for healing, for the life of the Church and society at regular prayer meetings and pastorally in our homes. We seek to be actively available to pray for one another; no request is too small, too big or too inconvenient.

Making Disciples of all ages

We believe in creating a learning community, which helps people at all stages in their faith journey to move towards maturity in Christ. We seek to encourage all our members to be part of a fellowship growth group. We seek to involve everyone in ministry and service, and to grow leaders fit for ministry and mission both within our own context and for the wider church.

Proclaiming Jesus locally and globally

We believe the Good News about Jesus is so exciting we cannot keep it to ourselves. We seek to help our community, and other communities across the globe, to meet Jesus and discover new life in Him.

Caring for people in Jesus’ name locally and globally

We believe Jesus commands us to ‘love our neighbour as ourselves’, so we seek to support people in their mental, physical and relational needs. We seek to stand alongside, and advocate for: the forgotten, the oppressed and the poor of body, mind and soul, both on our doorsteps and further afield.

Caring for God’s creation

We believe the natural environment is God’s gift to humanity and an expression of his goodness. Therefore, it is our responsibility to steward the natural resources of the world in a ‘green’ manner for successive generations. We want to be known as a ‘Green Church’. We seek to achieve this in the life of the Church activities and by calling on our membership and community to implement sustainable environmental practices in their daily lives and have engaged in planting over 60 trees in the Church grounds and are about to create a public ‘wilding garden’ space in the Church grounds.
