One year on from visiting Nyapeya and there are two pieces of wonderful news. Firstly the school is at ‘ringbeam’ level and Richard Spratt the Director of Fields of Life has sent us the pictures below. This has been made possible by a generous anonymous donor in Drumbeg Parish contributing 50% of the costs and another kind donor lending 50% which is being paid back over 3 years by the congregation’s offerings. Secondly, through the incredible generosity of guests at Nigel’s birthday and James and Rosie’s wedding, the sum of £25000 has been raised for the teacher’s block and negotiations are underway to commence this work. THANKYOU from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who has made this possible for the children in this community.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_images_carousel images=”1054,1052,1053″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]For updates on the school and our fundraising projects visit Drumbeg Parish Nyapeya School on Facebook.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”1048″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_border”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]A group from Drumbeg visited Nyapeya in January along with Fields of Life. Nyapeya in Northern Uganda is an area of heartbreaking destitution where children have nothing. It is also a place of hope as there is now peace in the area following the end of a civil war which left many people dead, maimed and traumatised.

Now is the time for community development and what better way to help provide a future than to build a school and a well so a community can thrive and give children opportunity that previous generations have not had.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Currently, at the site of the school, where the buildings are composed of wooden slats and a grass roof, there are no resources. Not even a single piece of chalk, a single book, pencil or piece of paper.

We visited other schools that have been built by Fields of Life in Uganda and here the children thrived and were thrilled to show us their school work.

The next stage of the project is to secure funding for a teacher’s accommodation block in order to attract qualified teachers to the school.

I can assure you that your donations will be well spent and will change the lives and futures of children in this region.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZHxV6a3RYU&feature=youtu.be” align=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
